Who was Tim Dog? Timothy Blair, who is better known by his stage name Tim Dog. Tim rose to prominence during the early 1990s as an American rapper from the Bronx, New York, who released numerous chart-topping singles LP Penicillin on Wax and the celebrated diss track “Fuck Compton.” The rapper Tim Dog had already appeared on songs with the Ultramagnetic MCs and created a duo with Kool Keith called Ultra.

“Fuck Compton” appeared in XXL magazine’s “Top 25 Diss Tracks of All Time” and earned Tim Dog critical acclaim from progressive hip-hop producer Blockhead. The eclectic producer stated that Tim Dog’s “The Dog’s Gonna Getcha” (off Penicillin on Wax) is “quite possibly the hardest song ever made.”

Nas references Tim Dog on his track “Where Are They Now?” from his 2006 album Hip Hop Is Dead, and despite Tim Dog’s feud with Dr. Dre, Eminem (whom Dre had discovered) name-checked him on the track “Ricky Ticky Toc.

 

Tim Dog’s Penicillin on Wax CD

Penicillin on Wax is the debut studio album by New York-based rapper Tim Dog. It was released on November 12, 1991,, via Ruffouse RecordsProduction was handled by several record producers, including Ced-GeeTR Love,  and Moe Love from Ultramagnetic MC’s, Bobby Crawford, Louis Flores, and Tim Dog himself. Fellow rapper Kool Keith made guest appearances on two tracks.

The album spawned three singles, the infamous underground hit “Fuck Compton” (which disses the West Coast hip hop), “Step To Me,” and “Bronx Nigga”. The album peaked at number 155 on the US Billboard 200 chart, number 34 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, number 4 on the Heatseekers Albums chart.

Tim Dog’s Death

Tim Dog’s death was mired in controversy for several reasons. A death certificate from DeKalb County, Georgia, shows that a Timothy Blair with the same birth date and Social Security number listed in the Mississippi court documents died on February 14th, 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia. Tim Dog’s death was initially reported by “Dateline NBC” and obtained by The Associated Press. The official death certificate shows that the 46-year-old former rapper died at a hospice center but did not list a cause.

Nelly is set to tour throughout the summer, up until September 24th. And you can count on surprise guest appearances.

Nelly Tour Set To Include Special Guest Appearances

Rapper Nelly is headed to a location near you in his upcoming 2022 tour.

Look for special guest appearances at some venues throughout the tour.

Expected to join Nelly on stage at select locations, including T.I., Ying Yang Twins, Ginuwine, Blackstreet, and more.

During his tour, Nelly (real name Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr.) is scheduled to headline 2 festivals this year.

On July 22-23, he is set to perform alongside Blake Shelton and ane Brown at Shakopee, Minnesota’s Twin Cities Summer Jam.

And after that event, you can catch him with Ja Rule, Ashanti, and Lil Jon on Aug 6th.

That event will be held at Toronto’s Pain Is Love Pt. Deux.

Tory Lanez Returns With A Summer-Ready Single, “It Doesn’t Matter” – Halla Back Free Promotion

We have yet another weekly drop-off from Tory Lanez and it’s clear that he isn’t finished applying pressure. Today (May 20), the Canadian artist performed at the Metro Metro festival in Montreal as he shared the stage with a slew of heavy-hitters. Lil Baby, Playboi Carti, Trippie Redd, Don Toliver, Polo G, Lil Tecca, Lakeyah, DaBaby, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and Lil Pump are just a handful of rappers appearing at the festival, and Lanez wanted to deliver another new banger on the evening of his performance.

Quavo Takeoff Hotel LobbyMigos rappers Quavo and Takeoff have released a new collaboration under their new duo name Unc and Phew. It’s titled “Hotel Lobby” and comes with an accompanying video.
