Rising Star Mone Symone Releases New Song & Video 'New Thang'

A multitalented strong force battling structures of disenfranchisement as she marks the steep ascent in the world of hip-hop, R&B, and Soul- Mone Symone is determined to challenge the odds as she aspires to make it big in the industry with her new release, ‘New Thang’.

Stories about women making a name for themselves in an industry as male dominated as the sphere of hip-hop and R&B are both heartening and inspiring. Mone Symone is one such inspiration who is quickly becoming very famous, very fast. Those who know her well often rhetorically ask: “Is there anything Mone Symone can’t do?” – and for good reason too! She is not only a singer and a songwriter, but also a very vocal civil rights activist, a rapper, a dancer, a community organizer, a businesswoman, and an investor.

Mone Symone was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, where she had a troublesome childhood growing up in a disenfranchised community. Tired of the cards she was handed by life, she decided to pursue music – things took an unexpected turn, however, when she got pregnant with a baby girl. For Mone Symone, it became a question of choosing between her passion for music or her daughter – she chose her little girl. After raising her with the help of her mother, Mone Symone went to Atlanta, Georgia, to pursue her passion for music.

Despite the odds, Mone Symone successfully managed to release her new single titled ‘New Thang’ and dropped a mixtape in collaboration with hip-hop celebrity star Tina. What makes her music unique is the fact that she pours her heart and soul into every beat and lyric. Her daughter, instead of becoming a barrier between Mone Symone and her dreams, became her biggest inspiration and she strives to be an example for women of all ages to believe in the fact that hard work and determination does indeed pay off.

DaBaby Brings Out Tory Lanez At Rolling Loud After Megan Thee Stallion Set

DaBaby had a big set at Rolling Loud Miami where he performed a series of hits including ‘Suge’, ‘Cry Baby’ (yes, the Megan song), ‘Vibez’ and more but it seems like he had some plans to create a stir as well.

The rapper performed right after Megan Thee Stallion’s set on the Ciroc stage and decided to bring out Tory Lanez as a surprise guest. “I’ll give somebody out here a million dollars if they can guess who in here,” he said as Tory got out of his costume onesie.

Tory is accused to shooting at Megan The Stallion but he has pleaded not guilty in the incident. Watch the clips below.

When Tory Lanez walked off the stage following the performance, the next song DaBaby played was Megan’s verse from their song “Cash Sh*t’. Messy.

Smiley, who is a rapper from Drake’s home city of Toronto, has been an “inspiration” for Drake in the past, specifically for his 2018 album ‘Scorpion‘.

The collaboration comes as fans wait for more news about Drake’s forthcoming album ‘Certified Lover Boy’, which the artist said earlier this month was being mixed and was “on the way”.

The rapper has been teasing the record for some time and had originally planned to release it in January 2021. Check out the new song below which follows Drake’s feature on Brent Faiyaz’s latest single ‘Wasting Time‘. Produced by Tay Keith.
