Dr. Dre’s lawyer denies that Snoop Dogg owns “The Chronic” album

Dr. Dre’s lawyer denies that Snoop Dogg owns “The Chronic” album
Last month, it was announced that Snoop Dogg had officially become the new owner of Death Row Records. That came after the legendary hip-hop record label had been going through bankruptcy, since 2006. Snoop also went on to release his new album “Bacc On Death Row.” That release happened several days before Snoop’s Super Bowl LVI halftime show, in Inglewood, CA.
Snoop also claimed that he owns Dr. Dre’s 1992 debut studio album, “The Chronic.” This project was released under Death Row, and regarded as one of the biggest hip-hop albums of all-time. This claim was made during an interview with TIDAL’s Elliot Wilson, a few days ago.
“As far as 2Pac’s masters, 2Pac’s masters came back to him last year. But I got a great relationship with his estate, and I’m pretty sure we’re going to be able to work something out … to continue some Death Row 2Pac business now that Snoop Dogg is in control of Death Row. Same with Dr. Dre and The Chronic. I got The Chronic album. I got Doggystyle, Tha Doggfather, Murder Was the Case, Dogg Food, Above the Rim. I got all those records.”
Now, Dre’s lawyer is denying that Snoop has ownership of this album. This all comes after Dre also performed at the Super Bowl, with Snoop.
“There are false reports out regarding ownership by Death Row of Dr. Dre’s The Chronic,” said Howard King, to Complex in a statement. “Dr. Dre owns 100 percent of The Chronic.”
The Chronic originally debuted at number three, on the Billboard 200 chart. It was led by singles such as “Nuthin But A G Thang,” ft. Snoop Dogg and “Dre Day,” ft. Snoop. The album is also 3x platinum in the US. Dre reached a divorce settlement with his estranged wife, Nicole Young, over a month ago, as Dre had to pay $100 million. A few years ago, Nicole even claimed that she owns the trademark to “The Chronic” title.

Quavo and Takeoff release “Hotel Lobby” single

Quavo and Takeoff release “Hotel Lobby” single
A few days ago, Quavo and Takeoff announced that they would be releasing a new single together. This track is now here, as it’s titled “Hotel Lobby,” and released under their “Unc & Phew” group name.
When Quavo and Takeoff initially announced Hotel Lobby, Offset unfollowed both of them on Instagram. As many know, all three have had success together as Migos, since 2013. This release has been hinting that Migos may be done as a group, but they haven’t publicly addressed that speculation yet. This all comes almost a year after Migos released their highly anticipated “Culture III” album, which was their first album since January 2018’s “Culture II.”

Kevin Samuels’ “Atlanta” role was meant for Steve Harvey

Kevin Samuels’ “Atlanta” role was meant for Steve Harvey
Over a week ago, Kevin Samuels appeared in a new episode of “Atlanta,” on FX, titled “Rich Wigga Poor Wigga.” This came exactly a week after he passed away, at 56, at his apartment in Atlanta. At the time, Samuels died of cardiac arrest, as he was reportedly complaining about chest pain, to a 32-year-old woman that he was supposedly with, in his final moments.
In this Atlanta episode, Samuels played the role of philanthropist and businessman, Robert Shea Lee. Lee spoke to high school seniors, and revealed that he’d cover their college tuition, only if they’re a Black student.
Stephen Glover, who is Donald Glover’s brother and a producer of Atlanta, recently spoke with Complex about this interesting Atlanta episode. However, Glover revealed that this role was meant to be for Steve Harvey, but it never happened.
“I’m a Black man, so to me, Kevin Samuels isn’t that crazy,” Glover explained. “He was an old Black man. I think we’ve all met some version of Kevin Samuels before in our lives. We probably have a family member who’s Kevin Samuels.
People are getting lazier, so I understand this idea of us putting Kevin Samuels [in an episode] must mean that we hate women, but actually Kevin Samuels did a really good job on this. I think as far as the bigger question of us hating women, we definitely don’t.”
Atlanta season 3’s final episode aired on May 19. Season 4 is scheduled to arrive in the fall.

Doja Cat says she had surgery on her tonsils after infection

Doja Cat says she had surgery on her tonsils after infection
Doja Cat continues to be one of the biggest artists in the world. Last weekend, she took home four wins at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, as well. These included categories in Best R&B Album, Best R&B Female Artist, Best Viral Song, and Best R&B Artist.
On Friday, Doja did reveal some concerning information on Twitter, though. Doja says that her tonsils got infected before the BBMAs, and started to get a huge growth on it. That came after she drank vine and was vaping, all day long. Doja got surgery on her tonsils, on Friday.
“Dr. just had to cut into my left tonsil. i had an abscess in it. my whole throat is f*cked so i might have some bad news for yall coming soon. Nah so my tonsils got infected before bbmas and i was taking fuckin antibiotics but forgot that i was taking them and then i drank wine and was vaping all day long and then i started getting a nasty ass growth on my tonsil so they had to do surgery on it today.
Doja also explained the process, and how painful it was. She did note that she is okay now, though. Hopefully, this doesn’t prevent her from being able to release new music, for a while. Doja interacted with her fans on Twitter about this, and revealed that she has a nicotine addiction, and can’t just give up vaping completely, but is trying.
